Purchased by Australian Jack Parker direct from the works while visiting England; despatched 12/10/56; shipped to Sydney as deck cargo on a freighter arriving early '57; purchased tor famous rally driver 'Gelignite' Jack Murray to race and used as road car by owner; maintained by Murray at his Bondi garage; Murray banned for racing for two years; 1958 Australian GP, Bathurst, ret'd; painted silver during this period: March 1959, Bathurst, 3rd; also Bathurst October 1959, April 1960, October 1960 & April 1961; November 1961 sold to Bob Jane (Melbourne); restored by Jim Shepherd & repainted BRG; used tor display purposes at Jane's tyre depots; 1976 car stolen and driven through plate-glass window of Sydney showroom prior to an intended suicide attempt but crashed; repaired & repainted by Shepherd & completed in 1977; 1980 reported to have covered less than 10,000 miles since original purchase; 1980 sold to George Parlby (Sydney) tor a reputed $125,000; some further restoration work done; sold to Jeffrey Pattinson, Coys of Kensington, UK; sold to Allen Lloyd (UK).

According to "Jaguar D Type & XKSS" by Graham Robson car was dispatched Oct. 12, 1956. Exported to USA.

Car is said to have been owned Jack Murray in 1957, in Australia. Mentioned in "The XK120 in the Southern Hemisphere" page 19.
