The car is mentioned in the book "Jaguar D Type & XKSS" by Graham Robson as registered XKD 1, short nose with fin. Originally exported to the USA but now owned by Englishman Nick Mason (ca 1983).

xkd516 was owned by jack broudy of new york prior to be being shipped to the uk. my broudy purchased xkd516 after a tip from dick merrit about xkd516 which was at a dealer in lexington, mass. mr broudy purchased xkd516 and shipped it to the uk . it was sold to alan clark thru an intermediary.
