Am I correct in saying this C-Type was later owned by, and displayed at Briggs Cunningham Automotive museum at Costa Mesa, California? Can anybody tell me to whom ownership passed after that time, please?
It must have been sold during, or before, 1986.

1) The answer to the first question is yes, this '53 Le Mans winner was displayed at the Briggs Cunningham museum.
2) I believe Mr. Cunningham sold it directly to Mr. Adrian Hamilton.
3) The answer to the question that wasn't asked - "Who sold XKC051 to Mr. Cunningham?" - That would be my father, Miles Brubacher. My Dad owned the vehicle for approximately 10 years.

Hi - I'm writing a book about XKC 051 as part of the Porter Press Great Cars series and would very much like to find out more details about its time with Miles Brubacher. John, if you read this, perhaps you could contact me at chas@chasparker.co.uk. Many thanks.

The photo uploaded in April 2011 is actually XKC012. 012 was the practice car for the 1953 Le Mans.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
